Cathy Techtmann

Cathy “Cat” Techtmann is a Professor of Community Resource Development and a University of Wisconsin-Extension Environmental Outreach State Specialist.

Cathy creates innovative educational programs for youth and adult audiences that integrate culture and science to promote environmental stewardship. She developed and directs the Gikinoo’wizhiwe Onji Waaban or “G-WOW” Changing Climate, Changing Culture Initiative in partnership with the Great Lakes Indian Fish and Wildlife Commission, US Forest Service, and National Park Service. She is on the development team for the new Climate Strong! Tribal climate leadership initiative and the Tribal Nations Lead! program. Cathy is a member of the UW-Extension Native American Task Force and a NOAA Climate Steward.
