Dan Utech

Dan Utech has more than 20 years of experience in the development and implementation of energy, climate change, and environmental policy. Currently, Dan is a lecturer at the Yale School of Forestry and a policy consultant to leading environmental non-governmental organizations and foundations. Previously, Dan served as the Deputy Assistant to President Obama for Energy and Climate Change. In that role, Dan coordinated administration-wide execution of President Obama’s Climate Action Plan. Prior to joining the White House, Dan was a Senior Advisor to Energy Secretary Steven Chu. Dan joined the Obama Administration after 10 years in the United States Senate, where he worked on a wide range of energy and environmental policy issues for Senators Clinton, Corzine, and Baucus. Dan holds a B.A. in Philosophy from Amherst College and Master degrees from Yale’s School of Forestry and Environmental Studies and the School of Management.
