Dr. Fungmin (Eric) Liew is a senior scientist in the Synthetic Biology team of LanzaTech Inc. The Illinois-based company has successfully commercialized a microbial process that converts waste gases into fuels and chemicals while saving greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. Following the completion of his PhD study in molecular microbiology at the University of Nottingham (UK), his roles in LanzaTech involve leading several government-funded projects to produce fuels and chemicals from industrial waste gases.
