Naya Jones

Naya Jones, PhD is an arts-based geographer, cultural worker, and holistic practitioner based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin working across place. Her research lifts up Black geographies of healing, sovereignty, and food in North and Latin America. Her current projects with community partners focus on African-American holistic healing, culturally-rooted garden pedagogy, and Black diaspora gardens in the face of climate change. Naya is founder of Rootwork, a healing arts practice, and is a Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Culture of Health Leader (2017-2020). She is also a postdoctoral fellow at the Medical College of Wisconsin. www.nayajones.com
