Assistant Professor, Biological Systems Engineering, College of Agricultural and Life Sciences, UW-Madison
In 2017, Zhou Zhang received her PhD in civil engineering from Purdue University and was a postdoctoral scholar at University of California-Davis before joining UW-Madison. Zhou’s research focuses on improving the sustainability aspects of agriculture using digital agricultural techniques. Specifically, she is interested in creating systems that make more efficient use of farm inputs, leading to improved agricultural productivity, and environmental quality. To accomplish this, she is creating advances in remote sensing techniques to permit data acquisition from multi-sensors, and then using artificial intelligence techniques to analyze “big data” and ultimately help producers with decision-making tools.
