Executive Director, Kavango–Zambezi Transfrontier Conservation Area (KAZA TFCA) Secretariat

Nyambe Nyambe, PhD, started his career in the mid-1990s as a wetlands officer and later as a community wellbeing specialist under the International Union for the Conservation of Nature (IUCN) in the Barotse floodplains, Zambia. He previously held the following positions: program director (environment and development), Centre for Environment and Development at the University of KwaZulu-Natal, and project executant, Zambezi-Chobe Fisheries Project, Namibia Nature Foundation.

He joined the Worldwide Fund for Nature (WWF) Zambia in 2008 as a wetlands officer and subsequently was appointed to the following positions: project coordinator, conservation manager and country director. He has been the executive director of the Kavango Zambezi Transfrontier Conservation Area Secretariat based in Kasane, Botswana, since April 2018. He holds a bachelor of social work from the University of Zambia, master of environment and development from the University of Natal, and PhD from the University of KwaZulu Natal.
