Framing the Message to Engage with Volunteer Monitoring and Management of Aquatic Invasive Species

Using the right message framing when talking about aquatic invasive species (AIS) can be key to effectively engaging with volunteers or the public. We’ll share some of our evidence-based research on crafting AIS messaging that actually works and doesn’t result in unintended consequences. We’ll also share how the UW Division of Extension engages volunteers for both AIS monitoring and management through a number of opportunities.
