Species on the Move for Creative Writers: A Reading and Collective Journaling Session in Response to the Essay “Living Words” by Brigitte Baptiste

This session takes its inspiration from the English translation of a Spanish language essay entitled “Living Words” (Palabras Vivas) by Brigitte Baptiste, which explores the diversity of species, the process of naming, the binary structure of the mind, and much more. We will read excerpts from the essay and allow time for participants to free write in real time. There will be time for sharing and discussion, and those who provide emails will receive a digital copy of the collective reflection. The English language translation of this essay was made possible by the 4W Women in Translation (WIT) Project. The session will be led by 4W-WIT leaders Lori DiPrete Brown, Dr. Beatriz Botero, and Dr. Sarli Mercado.

Hosted by the 4W Initiative
