Kenya Jacobs

Director, Diversity Recruiting and Workforce Development, Trane Technologies

Kenya Jacobs serves as the leader of Trane Technologies’ diversity recruiting and workforce development efforts. In this role, she is responsible for leading diversity recruiting efforts, in line with the company’s commitment to cultivating a workforce that is inclusive and provides an opportunity for all.

In her eight years with the company, Jacobs has held progressively responsible human resources and training roles, including leading career development efforts including the company’s Accelerated Development Program, which equips recent college graduates with training and development opportunities via challenging assignments and valuable exposure, in efforts to advance their careers. In addition, Jacobs has served as an HR generalist and business partner with the company.

Prior to joining Trane Technologies, Jacobs worked at Hewlett Packard as a learning and development business partner. Previously she was with Starbucks Coffee Company, where she led training and global learning project management.

Jacobs leads Trane Technologies’ external partnerships with diverse professional organizations including the National Society of Black Engineers and the Society of Women Engineers. Through these strategic partnerships, we generate opportunities to hire diverse engineers into the company and serve as a catalyst for positive STEM experiences for young children and teens. She is an active member of the Black Employee Network where she leads the career development steering committee.

Jacobs holds a master’s in instructional technology from the University of Houston–Clear Lake and a bachelor of science in computer science from Spelman College. She is actively pursuing her MBA from the University of Wisconsin–Eau Claire.
